Went to P-n-P yesterday and what did I find....a yellow 1975 Maverick....second one that I have seen there in years! Car is pretty complete, has high back bucket seats (cloth) very nice door panels and a couple of 14" magnum 500 rims, had A/C but compressor is gone, interior A/C stuff is still there. I snagged the P/S hoses as they were VERY long and I need them for my V8 conversion, front end under it looked pretty new, P/S control valve was tight and it had brand new tierod ends, 5 lug all the way around but drum on the front, I did also manage to snag a very nice washer tank from it, going back this morning to take another look......anyone need parts?
Ideas for stuff to get that could be eBayed or sold here if you don't need them ... That is probably a cat convertor car, correct? If so, that should have the funky seat tracks that make up for the hump in the passenger side floor. Very good for guys that don't want to have to mod their floors in later cars. Make sure to get all the little parts, (Bell-shaped riser on drivers side, block-shaped risers off the back ... these will all be on the tracks closest to the trans tunnel). The bucket seats would be a good grab too. The car may have the bigger front sway bar. Dash pad if it is good ... (yeah, right ... 40 yo Florida car? ... LOL) Bucket seats ... is it floor shifter, too? Door panels that are in good shape should be in demand too. Use a trim tool and make sure you don't break the backer ... easy does it. Power brake shock tower brace ... ugly but needed by some. Trim and boomerangs that may be in good shape.
Yeah I was thinking about some of it...worst time it could be there for me so far as money goes right now...I'm broke! in a week I would have some money but it remains to be seen as to what is left by then. If it were a floor shift car I would have somehow gotten it...even if I had to sell something for the extra money! I will look it over good for stuff..and those door panels look pretty good to me...if I had the cash I would just buy the doors off of it for myself!!
I could use the PS control valve. Mine is leaking. I would be willing to pay you for your trouble. Let me know how much with shipping to 06492.
what do they call it then a gravel pan. you know the part under the bumer. either way whatever name it is i need one really bad it looks like mine got in a fight with a bunch of hammers and lost.
what year is your car? "He said the car is a 75. No rear valance on a 75." (...bumper has nothing under it...) ...:Handshake...
I think you are talking about the plastic filler panel between the bumper and the taillight panel. Don't know for sure the name of that either....
"it looks like mine got in a fight with a bunch of hammers and lost." doesn't sound like the..."plastic filler panal". ......
