It is not a good sign when you see your right front passenger tire fly above your hood and fall to the street. Thank goodness it wasn't the Mav. It was our Spyder. But the Mav will now get her first real road test taking Mike to work and back.

A young 20ish lady who just got her license and first car yesterday went into a tailspin in the oncoming traffic, came across the center lane. I almost got our of her way, but still clipped my headlight and sliced the tire off the car. After skidding for 15 to 20 feet with no front tire, my transmission is shot. Made the most horrid sound when I put her in park. Note the red fluid starting to puddle under the car.

Everyone is okay, thank goodness. The only fatality was the doctor office mailbox.

Stopped by the body shop to empty her out. It looks far worse in daylight. The bracket/support that hold the shock in place is broke clean in half. The area of the engine compartment I can see from the outside is a total wreck. The washer fluid bottle is shreaded.

I am beginning to think she fibbed a bit to the police. There is no way she could have hit with this much force if she had just left a full stop no more than 75 - 100 feet away. Me thinks she was gunning it to cross the road infront of me to get in a driveway.

BTW turns out she is uninsured. :(:( Thank goodness I have uninsured motorist.
