I'm gonna put door panels in my 70 maverick but I can't figure out how to remove the arm rests on the door and the inside door handles.
IIRC aren't there two phillips head screws on the under side of the arm rest? I think they screw in from the under side and screw in at a slight angle.
yup, and best removed with a 1/4" drive ratchet, short extension and deep-well 3/8" socket (the 1/4" drive doesnt wanna get stuck in there as bad as the 3/8" drive does)
Or use a nut driver set to remove them. (Kind of like screwdrivers with permanent sockets on the end)
If neither of those are an option, you can use a 3/8 to remove the first one, get it stuck, then use a 3/8 deep well to remove the second one, and retrieve both. Ask me how I know
Thanks for the help I got em off and me and my dad made a side panel but I think we're gonna buy some instead, does anyone know where I can get some?
X2 on the nut driver. I think we all learned this one real quick when the arm rest ate our socket on the first bolt. LOL. Sucks when you only have one.
