I was thinking about what would be the most desired 10 Mavericks ever made...not easy to do. Trying to keep it simple excluding colors and options, here's what I came up with...any other thoughts. 1. Shelby Maverick or Boss 302 Maverick (myth?/not production) 2. 72 Sprint 3. 76 Stallion 4. 71 V8 Grabber 5. Early 289 4 spd (Mexico) 6. 70 Grabber 7. 69.5 Maverick (subtile early production differences) 8. Brazillian stationwagon (production?) 9. 72 LDO 10. 71 Comet GT (I ran out of Mavericks)
1. Ray's Shelbyized Maverick 2. Dennis' Sprint 3. The Green 4 door 4. ... Oh I think I took this on the wrong track LOL
I thought about doing a poll like that before, Top Ten Members cars. But for one it would be hard to choose, and wouldn't want any feelings hurt. I could probably pick my top five just from memory without even looking through the gallery.
I guess a Top 5 list of "factory produced for retail sale" Mavericks would be alot easier....a Top 10 list is a little hard to fill.
If I were to actually and seriously make a list of Factory produced Mavericks that I would like to own in Original Factory condition it would be difficult because Ford didn't really give them the HP that they deserved. Now if you are including the fact that the car would be factory original and the mechanics could be upgraded that would be a much different story. Factory Stock/Factory Original Showroom new condition for collectors purposes I would love to have.... 1972, Sprint, V8, 3 speed manual on the floor with A/C 1970 Grabber with the 200 I6, A/C and Manual three on the tree. (would prefer to have the 250 I6 with the 3 on the tree but I don't think it was a factory option) Orange and Black 1976 Stallion (Red/Black or Blue/Black) V8, A/C Bucket seats and Manual 3 speed on the floor. 1971 V8 Grabber Automatic with all the Grabber interior options, Bucket seats, deluxe door panels, rear window defogger. Red with Black/reflective Grabber Stripes
