whats the difference in the fenders?

    i read that there are early and later fenders for the mav's. Whats the difference?

    The early fenders were notched out in front of the side marker light for the gravel pan to fit into - the later fenders were not - you can use a later fender on an early car by creating that notch or notching the gravel pan.

    The fender in the photo is from my 70

    70-72 were notched, 73-77 were squared off.

    o, ok i see. Thanks, didnt even notice untill now. Are there any more allterations from year to year?, other than the bumpers?

    Another minor difference in the fenders - early 70-72 fenders have the holes for the name script. And the headlight adjuster mounts changed in 75.

    i tried to fit a 74 onto a 71, bolt holes lined up but hood would not fit right and bottom of fender would not work.

    Hood will fit fine if the fender and hood are adjusted properly.
