Looks great man! Outstanding build. I would be afraid to run the nitrous when you bolt on the supercharger haha. I wish i would have known that you needed a breater and carb studs, i have a few new in box that i would have let you have for free.

I got to brynats shop a little later but we got started right away. The header gaskets arrived. I had stripped a few of the bolts when I took them out of heads so went to get new ones. Well I guess these were a little longer which we thought would work but after we spent hours getting them in they bottomed out. We're thinking the slightly longer bolts are for thicker headers so we cut a few of them down, I chased some of the bolts I messed up and we were able to get the heads on before lunch. We'll keep the bolts for the header upgrade down the road.

Here are the $50 bolts, aren't they beautiful though

Here is how I stripped the bolts when I took them out, you can see the shiny threads on the very bottom

Here is a comparison of the bolt lengths

Bryant routed the fuel line under the AC, looks much neater and also we took off the valve covers which helped tremendously

I've always had a HUGE pet peave about thise little clips that keep the spark plug wires from touching. I thought they were all tacky, I don't know why, never wanted one on my car. And look what Bryant came up with (he gave credit to some magazine) but that's the first time I've see it done . . . so awesome, looks totally industrial. It's just a bunch of zip ties.

I think so far everything is looking great

For the magnetic pickup of the distributor we had to run 2 new wires from MSD to the front of the car. Another cool trick bryant did. Take the too wires and fasten them in a vise, put the other end of the wires in a drill and start the drill, the wires twist on themselves and make it much easier running them through the car together, genius.

There are 3 wires on the dizzy, the black we didn't use, the orange and purple is what was left. The purple goes to green and the orange goes to the violet wire.

As soon as we filled the radiator with water we got a leak from the thermostat housing. When I put it on I kinda saw that the gasket wasn't covering enough surface. Bry took it apart and just put some good sealant on it. Came out great and here he is testing it for leaks, perfect.

We checked to make sure everything was tight. Started it up and after we realized the wires on the starter were crossed everything started up without a problem. The exhaust is SO much louder now, there is so much more heat from under the engine and after driving the car there is so much more heat in the cabin. Nothing some more insulation won't fix. But it's a BEAST. The thing revvs up so fast. It's very smooth, there is some vibration but I'm pretty sure that's from my drive shaft. I'll attack that next actually. We had to adjust the slave cylinder which worked out fine too. All in all, great success.

I love that trick with the zip ties for plug wire seperators, never seen that before! Very cool low cost trick!

overall the engine is awesome! It's very powerful. I have an oil leak from the oil sender, one from the rear of the engine and one from the oil filter . . . not too bad for my first engine and we should be able to fix it.
