Ok, I got a manual steering center link today from a 71 mav and am wondering if anyone has ever drilled and installed a grease zerk for the ball stud that goes into the pitman arm? Right now there is none, wonder why ford didnt allow for that to get greased.:hmmm:

is this the one that you have to drill a hole into the shock tower to get to it? if so, I did with no problems :thumbs2:

HMMMMM,....I think I know why these arent drilled for a zerk....maybe because it is VERY hard steel. I just spent 10 minutes with a 1/8th inch bit and didnt even phase it. Hardly a mark. I may just have to leave it alone, I figure if it cant be drilled then tapping it will be impossible, bummer

Believe it or not I once drilled some kind of hardened steel using a good masonary bit? Don't ask me to remember what it was but I remember getting stuck trying something and said "what the ...." give a different bit a try...............or?? it may have never happened!
