Every engine that i have owned i had my local shop build, but w/my 351 swap i decided to build the engine myself. The problem that i have is that my fuel pump eccentric hits my timing cover and I'm not sure what caused this to happen. The cam i installed is the edelbrock rpm with a dbl roller chain. I checked the bearings and they appear to be seated right. Is there a different cover or fuel pump eccentric that i need. Please help any suggestions or tips just let me know.:slap:

Not sure if a double roller timing chain will fit in the 351W ...

yes, the double roller fits fine. It's the cam gear that was changed over the years...some are offset and some have a flat face, which pushes the eccentric outward toward the cover. I don't remember for sure whether it was a 1 or 2 piece eccentric, but one of them is longer than the other which combined with the flat-faced cam gear pushes the eccentric into the front cover. Pull the cover and measure the thickess of the eccentric and look to see if it is a one or two piece. Then, if you need one let me know (I have both the 1 and 2 piece.)

My fuel pump eccentirc is the one with the eccentric and the washer and bolt. I don't think that is a 2 piece but then again i could be wrong. I'm going to check when I get home . Thanks

There is a spacer that goes between the cam and cam sprocket - some cam sprockets have them "built-in" and if you use the separate spacer with these sprockets it places the whole assembly out too far toward the front of the engine - check to see what you have and the installation instructions to see if you are supposed to leave the separate spacer out.
