What type of work am I gonna have to do to swap a 302 into this car? Front end shocks springs?Engine mount? Tranny? Never swapped a engine before wondering if its worth it. The Car is in great Shape super chrome straight body nice paint just missing the rumble.

Engine frame mounts, motor mounts, headers, Radiator, Frame crossmember, tranny crossmember. Do a search for the v8 swap. There's lots of info there. :Welcome:

The 200 tranny will bolt up behind a 302 if you get a new bellhousing. The question is how long it will last, unless it is rebuilt to take the abuse of the 302.:)
I believe you'll also need to change the flexplate and maybe the torque convertor.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
I believe the 200 has the one piece TC/flexplate. So he would need a V8 flexplate and converter. Also be sure to use the correct flexplate. There are a few out there. You need to know what weight the motor was balanced to 28oz or 50oz. Also your bellhousing will determine the teeth needed.

Thanks for the input I have researched as much as possible at least the springs and shocks are the same from 200 of 70 to the 302 that was in the 71. A couple engine shops said the c4 thats in the car should be fine with the 302.
