It's not a matter of "better" it's more of what do you use your car for? The torker is a race application, streetable, but needs rpm to be effective. The performer is a good choice for street use as it boosts torque at lower rpms + up through the midrange. Hope this clears it up a little!:)

The most important considerations when choosing any single component - even an intake or a set of heads - is what else is in the engine and what rpm does it achieve maximum hp.
With a stock engine it makes little sence to install an intake that is tuned for 6000 or more. The stock engine makes peal power at around 4800 rpm. The Performer intake is tuned to the 5000 - 5500 rpm range, which is "better" for your stock engine. You could even go with an after-market cam (a conservative one) if the heads were ported slightly and you had a good after-market exhaust system.

Neither is better, they're pretty much equal to each other. Both are lower rpm band intakes. If you want to boost the topend and still keep a good bottomend, look to the Performer RPM, Weiand Stealth, Ford A321, or any other highrise dual plane intake.
