What kind of insurance do you guys recommend now that I've fixed my car up? We just had 'regular' insurance and my wife says we need something better. I looked on line and they all sound good so I don't know what to do next!!

    Thanks!

Is it a daily driver? If not how many miles a year. Garage Kept? That is what most collector car insurance companies will ask. Other than that insurance is determined by things like how much can you afford to lose if you're in an accident. Especially if you are sued. It needs to be discussed with an agent to see what will offer the best protection for you and your family. Then if you figure out what that is you can look online for quotes.:)

I have Grundy agreed coverage on mine. No mileage restrictions, can drive it anytime, but it can't be used as a daily driver. You must have another vehicle that is used as a daily driver. You set the $ amount of coverage, then they give you a quote on how much per year it will cost you. Mine is $120 a year for $6500 coverage.

I have it on my reg policy. I was able to set the value I wanted covered and was charged accordingly. After it is out of the body shop, I can call and have the value raised (as well as the monthly payment of course).

Grundy here also. Very happy with them. My premium is $170 per year for $20,000 coverage. Zero deductible. I added my white Stallion and just asked for $8000 coverage. Got my premium notice...$29.50. Wow!!! I shoulda asked for more coverage. I think if I keep it I'll raise the value soon.

I have Hagerty agreed coverage on mine. No mileage restrictions, can drive it anytime, but it can't be used as a daily driver. You must have another vehicle that is used as a daily driver. must have a lockable garage. You set the $ amount of coverage, then they give you a quote on how much per year it will cost you. Mine is $250 a year for $20,ooo agreed value. it also covers roadside assistance for my Ridgeline and Effies Escape.(she has already had one tow clame).

I have Haggerty also. I pay $256.00 for my Comet that includes towing and road emergency service on my two daily cars. Like stated in the other post, can't be used daily. I believe I have a 5000mi year restriction; but, who's checking? It's most unlikely I will drive it 5000mi anyway.

I have Hagerty Also. I carry $15k on my maverick and $10k on my truck and pay $202/year plus the $24 for towing coverage. I almost didn't get the towing this year like i didn't last year, but I figure if i use it just once it will save atleast $40. I checked on adding a 1960 Falcon wagon to the policy at only $5k in coverage cause its a stock/project car and it was only $21 more to add it. I don't remember ever being asked about my mileage. Also never had to send proof of my garage. I only have a 2 car garage and they said I cant add the Falcon unless I have a third garage. I was talking to customer service Via their Live Chat on their website.

For now I just added mine onto my Allstate policy....but after it's completely road worthy I'll look into changing to Grundy.
