Last sunday my little brother and I found a pretty solid '75 2dr. 6cyl. auto maverick. While working part time and going to school full time we had barely enough money to keep food and beer on the table, we decided we could live with out buying food for a while so we could split the $650 price tag. Im graduating this may with a degree in manufacturing engineering my brother just started his freshman year in construction management. My dad and I had a project my junior year of high school. I bought a '79 F-100 2wd reg. cab short bed 300 and 3 in the tree. Rule was when I got it at 15 if I could keep it out of the ditches we could build a motor so I had a "hot rod" my senior year. With a little luck it stayed wreck free, I built a 400m .030 over 9:1 flat tops comp cam .519 intake .523 exhaust, performer intake. 600cfm holly and a C6. Ran 15 flat at 91 mph with stock 2.75 gears. Long story short when the economy went down hill it was when my little brother was looking for a project to do with dad but dad didn't want to look at anything not knowing how his job will work out. So when we seen the mav. I had to help him get it so he can have his project to.
from Southern California. Sounds like a very noble project. You'll get a lot of info from here. Good Luck with the build.
