Yes It was at the last Fun Ford Weekend event we had at Atlanta Dragway, It is a pretty famous car... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=45369&highlight=boss+429+maverick&page=5
That car belongs to Vic Temple. Seems like he told me he lives somewhere in Atlanta but I may be wrong. I took lots of pics of that baby when I was up there. Been a Boss 429 race car since it's early days. Not sure what it was born with though. Vic did an awesome job restoring it.
yes he did thats wicked the way the hood sits like that though, im considering a 4 or 6 inch cowl on my 73 with some fibergalss doors. But yeah that was a great job.
I knew a couple of guys that used to run factory drag cars back in the 60's and early 70's and they bought rolling chassis's of the line. I believe that Purvis Mercury out of Georgia I think or one of the Carolina's had a bunch of 65 Comet's that were built by Holman and Moody and if I remember right they were just rolling chassis that recieved H&M motors. Because they were not complete production cars ready for consumer purchase and was intended for race purpose only they were not eligible to be titled. Those were the days when you could do and or get anything you wanted and the way you wanted it.:bananaman
