I bought this water pump new five years ago and bolted it on the engine(totally rebuilt) at that time. It has not ran or ever been started. But I'm preparing to fire this thing up finally, filling all the fluids, etc. the water pump leaks antifreeze from the weep hole from the get go. Is it possible the seals went bad just setting there? Or what else ?

yep, seal may seal after some running, odds are in replacing pump.
Your excited for test run, run it, just keep eye on it. Ain`t gonna leak that much.
