As some of you know I am fitting a Ididit column to my project. I spent some time today working on it and it looks good. I have a question though...

On the side of the bracket that bolts to both the firewall and the bottom of the dash, the one with the brake pedal on it. There is another black bracket, wht is it?

I took a bunch of pictures as I disassembled the car, but I don't have a clear one of what goes to this.

    Thanks,
    Glenn

leave it where it is, the steering column is mounted on all three bolts.

Is that all it is? Because I am using an aftermarket column I have had to fabricate my own column drop/support. That whole side of that bracket is there for no reason now I guess?

My best guess is it's a support to keep the pedal mount from flexing, but honestly I don't have a clue as to what it's for. If you know someone with an assembly manual, it should be called out on an exploded view though.
