As most of you know, I work in a Ford assembly plant in Atlanta, GA. Today, we had a few new offerings from Ford, and here are some pics I took. Enjoy!
Sweet ... any word on the Sticker price yet? Pretty much looks like the show cars going around ... Did you have to sneak to pictures? Were they driving that on the streets of Atlanta? I see the tag on it ...
Dan; yeah, had to sneak the pics. No sticker prices or advance info, but the Mustang, from what I can gather, will be about 24K for the GT, base price. That's just a bit more than the present car. I will get more info out when I get it. Is a sweet car, though. The plant is having a "year of the car" presentation tomorrow night, and maybe I can get some better intel. And yes, they had some of the plant folks taking them out for a spin. Take care,
Maine Mav; it is a downright stunning car. To see it in person is a gas! The interior is the smoothest and most utilitarian (everything is within easy reach, and looks great) interior I have seen. Also, the Ford 500 and FreeStyle are really nice cars too. Ford may be in the running for the best SUV again. I hear this one is to replace the Explorer, but nothing concrete. It is rear wheel drive!
So many questions!!! -any estimated release date yet??? -HAVE you been in this car??? I would like, if you have complete stories from someone who has actually test driven a gt model. What is it like? what is acceleration like? est quarter mile times? Thanks for the pics!
Nice Mustang Earl, Thanks for the pictures! The Mustang is fantastic! I can't wait to see a convertable. I live in Michigan and work for Ford Wayne Assembly Plant (Focus). I have seen some Mustangs on the road here, they are outstanding and different from anything else. At first glance you think its an old Mustang! I went to the Flat Rock Assembly plant thinking I might see a convertable but no such luck. I did see three Ford GTs on I75 near Brighton MI Sunday. They look like pure rice cars!! 2005 should be an interesting year. Good job Ford!
Jeremy; All I can get is that the car will be offered for sale in Sept. The folks in the plant that have driven them said they really are nice. The one here is a 5sp car, and has 320hp. Should go pretty well. I won't be able to drive it, since I don't work directly for Ford, I am an agency employee. I will get more info when I can. Later,
sept, that's sooner than I thought!!! man, I can't wait!!! I'm just aching to take one apart already.
