Sorry guys that I havent been posting much I have been working lots have to havemoney to work on my car:). Been looking for cheap but nice V8 parts plan on ripping the inline 6 out and putting my rebuild 302. I have a question is it really worth ripping the cowl all apart to get at the ring(they are rusted) if im only going to be driving the car in the sun and it being in a coving in the rain? is it worth it?. Thanks guys

Rust spreads - it will spread whether or not you drive it in the rain beacause there is enough water in the air to feed it.
Take the time to repair it. You will probably find more rust than you expect and realize that it had to be done once you get in to a point where you can see it.
