I have a carter 4-barrel on my v-8 maverick and it does not acclearate very well at full throttle. Half thottle it accels great. When you really step into it it just sputters. I just rebuilt the carb a few months ago. It hasbeen doing this since I put it on. Any suggestions.

My first thought is the carb getting enough fuel upon full throttle. Has happened to me in the past. Could be a kinked fuel line somewhere, maybe a soft fuel line hose that collapsed?

You didnt seat the needles properly, pull the carb apart again and seat the re seat the needles. or you installed a gasket wrong i had that problem when i rebuilt the carb and my friends truck.

it only seams to be doing this under load. It does not do this when you just rev it up.

Take the carb apart and just as your about to put it back to gether and seat the needles put the top down just enough so you can see the needles before they go into there seats and place the two longer ones in first and the short ones are the hard ones because it always seems that if you get one in the other doesnt want to so just fiddle with them untill you do. Its a pain but i dont know of an easyier way other then to buy another carb.

Also may sure your gasket is lined up properly it can throw the needles off as well, by not let allowing the needles to come up all the way. another thing check your float level too i dont belive it is your float but i would have seen more weird things if it was. and check your air/fuel mixture.
