Cleaned up the Sprint wiper frames and arms this morning and I'm thinking they might all be original. Anyone have an opinion?

The blade frames are ANCO 16". US Patent numbers and "Made in USA" on one side and Can 1955, '62, '63, '64, '67 on the other.

The arms are TRICO marked "16" and "92".

Wouldn't have thought much about it but for an older thread discussing how hard it is to find original style arms and blade frames.

Looking at the rubber blades I think THEY might be original too. :rofl2: What was the edge is now 1/4" wide! Guess I'll look for some new inserts. :yup:

They look just like the ones on my Comet which I'm pretty sure are original. What did you use to polish them? I was contemplating a thread on blade replacement but I haven't done a thread search yet. Very nice (y)

I used 3M Rubbing Compound #2. I usually start with that and get more agressive, #1 then Brasso, if I need to.

Was going to give you a link to a helpful thread, maybe from 2008, but can't find it now.

A new thread on current availability and sources for wiper parts would be helpful I think.

I have NOS Ford wiper blades on my car, I can check and see what they say. They are genuine factory Maverick blades, smuggled out of the assembly plant in a lunch pail @ 1972.

Looks like the same shape as the original ones on my Sprint. They are also the same as the ones on my '69 Cougars. I used to buy Trico 43-160 refills from work. However, they discontinued them. I see that NPD shows the refills in their catalog. Probably, the other vendors do, too.

I just bought a pair of Pylon wiper blades from Walmart and took the blades out of the arms and put them in my Maverick wiper arms and they fit just like originals....the Pylon 17" are perfect fitting for refills at abour $4.59 each, my Grabber still had the original blades on it....rubber was breakng apart badly lol, made my own refills with no modification and they are the same length as originals.
I tried the 16" first and they were too short.

I buy the chrome sets for mustangs. Looks better than the silver ones in my opinion
Any Mustang supply house has them

Looks like your blade frames are all one piece, end-to-end. If they're in 3 pieces (like mine) I can''t see it. Other than that they look the same to me even tho different manufacturers.

    Arms look the same.

Man, your reveal molding is nice!

Mine are ANCO also. And have the same patent numbers that you listed.

in 70 you got anco blades,if the are factory where they say anco they will also say o.e. if they just say anco they are service parts.mustang guys pay a pretty penny for the anco o.e's if they are 16 inches long.

Would you believe I found a pair of 16" refills in the garage? :bananaman Paid $1.99 for the pair, who knows when. Maybe I bought them for the '66 Mustang I sold in '93? Anyway, they fit perfectly and they're on the car.

The swap meet I went to today, had loads of them. I should have bought a few sets.
