yea i didnt have time last night to pull the valve covers back off and put a ruler up to each one and make sure they are level. should have time tonight. and ill get a new set of spark plugs just to have a new base line to make sure im not running lean anymore ( i riched the carb 3 turns out from when the rpms started to drop on the lean side was only 1 turn out before) got a question thou i did some searching and the 1972 302 stock made 8.6:1 compression and my numbers ( found a compression ratio formula) and im making 9.5:1 could i possible have heads from a different year?
really i thought 72 was when ford started going to bigger heads ( cc wise ) that lowered the compression so that they were only making 140hp and better gas mileage?
no ive been super swamped between college and work and havent had time to work on her going to get her checked over one last time tomorrow morning before work and let you all now thanks for all the help
got an update i checked over the valve springs and made sure when they were level to each other and they all were . then i changed out all the spark plugs then let her warm up and took her out for a drive ( 17 miles ) down the street and back doing about 50 average and seemed to do just fine. so i guess it was just running to lean cus have good compression and all valves seem to be sealing if it does it again ill know its the coil now thanks guys
