    Anyone run into this before?

Yesterday when installing the headlight buckets we found the "LH" and "RH" markings on the buckets and went about installing LH on driver's side and RH on passenger side only to discover that the only way the bulbs would fit was rotated 90 degrees from vertical. So, for the first drive around the neighborhood that's how they were.

Didn't try it but bright/dim would have been straight/cross-eyed. :biglaugh:

Got looking at it this morning and found everything assembled correctly with the "LH" bucket on the passenger side and "RH" on the driver's side. :hmmm: What's up with THAT???

In all honesty, I never noticed the stampings... seems unlikely they are marked looking from the front of the car. Are they the original ones?

I ran into this last month after I restored a L.H. bucket for the L.H. fender. I'm guessing the it is the R.H. side of the car when you're facing the car although the drivers fender is on the left side. At least when it is time for me to do the R.H. fender the headlight bucket will already restored.

When we hit the problem, my buddy asks, "Is it possible they mean LH/RH when facing the front?" "Not possible", I said.

Maybe the auto industry needs to use "port" and "starboard". :yup:

Standard in the trade is left and right from sitting in drivers seat. Anything other than that is wrong. Even in Canada EH!!! :yup:

    I would but they're installed.

Maybe the mis-stamped ones are collectable like coins with errors. :rofl2:

Notice the window where the tension spring hooks onto the bucket...
