run away. a flat tapet cam is desgined to spin the lifter in its bore as goes up and down. the roller cam doesnt do this. also the ramp angles on a roller cam are to agressive and can catch the edge of a flat tappet lifter.

I have on several occasions dropped solid lifters on a hydraulic cam. ( I bet some old racers on here have done that also to squeeze just a bit more out of the car). But flat tappets on a roller cam.......................................... NO O NO O NO!!!!!!!!!!!
I can just see the ground metal in the pan and the metallic paint looking oil now.

He didn't run it more than a few minutes if he did. It'll destroy the lifters and the cam faster than you can play "Wipeout" on your stereo.

Has he attempted to even start it and "break in" those lifters?

I mean "break" in the literal sense here...

Lots of guys say roller lifters and mean roller rockers. If it`s lifters,,, junk price only, cause I`d trust nothing!
