Hello again, When I took my car for my first ride, I noticed that you didn't have to move the wheel very much at all before she'd cut across the road. A lot of people told me that it was normal, but I find it hard to believe since its almost frightening. ...My wheel spins around alot more easier than newer vehicles to. Please help, very irritating not knowing... Matthew
Power steering...suspension parts should be good because my step-father who is a mechanic looked the vehicle all over.
The power steering in these cars is very light and road feel is minimal. Its something that you have to get used to. But...It is possible your car needs an alignment. Bad castor/camber settings can make the steering very twitchy from off center.Good luck!!!
Ok, so the computer here at the garage we own only goes back to 1989. How in the world will I get an alignment done? lol
Castor: -2 1/2 Deg Camber: -3/4 Deg NOTE: Max checking distance side to side not to exceed 3/4 deg Toe: 1/16 inch Realise these specs are for a 72 model but... The only real difference will be radial tires on the car as opposed to bias ply tires. This may change the toe setting a bit. Hope this helps you out!!!
I noticed the exact same thing when first driving my car, which has a great suspension. It certainly startled me until I got used to it.
