I am a USN Retired Chief Electronics Technician that inherited a 1975 through my family.
It was originally bought in Chicago by my Uncle and he only drove it snow free. He died in 1979 and we found the car with 2260 miles on it. My parents drove it for the 6 months they were in Chicago cleaning out roughly 70 years of accumulation then drove it cross country to our home in southern California. It was the newest car my Father owned as he had driven a 1937 Willys Coupe to work until he retired for the third time in 1974.
My Father died in 1984 and I drove my mother in it until she died in 1998.
I have driven it intermittently as I have other newer vehicles to commute in.
I loaned it to a friend and Brother Mason when he fell on hard times amd lost his own car to the finance company.
It now needs some work as it overheated on him and poped the head gasket.
When we started to open it up we found the Emission A.I.R. air injection distribution manifold had rusted off the front cylinder nozzle banjo fitting and was showing weakness elsewhere.
Does anyone have a usable one for sale?
Next we will be pulling the head to make those repairs.
And also checking out the radiator and water pump for leaks/overheat damage/etc. I am lucky as my radiator is soldered brass and therefore still repairable.
    Regards,
    Bill (chevwilliam@earthlink.net)

Now thats a great first post!!!
Thanks for serving in the military.
I'm sure someone on here can help with parts. You may want to post an ad in the classified wanted section.

Welcome to the board. I started out as an ET, then switched over to be an RD. I think it's an OS now. I was homeported out of Long Beach in the 60's and then out of Moffet Field. Where you from in Cal?:)
