rock auto sells them too. i put a 75 tank in my 71 with no clearance issues and used the same straps with longer carriage bolts. the only issue i had was the sending unit was not accurate for the tank.

How did you solve the sending unit problem? Mine is shot.

I bought my tank from Rock Auto and the sending unit that came with my tank is accurate enough not to be stranded without gas. Might not be as accurate as a newer car. The gauge goes past F when it is full and goes to E with 1-1/2 gallons of gas left in the tank.

thats what mine did too. when full the arrow will go past full. empty is just below 1/4 tank. i didn't fuss with bending the float to be more accurate. it is close enough for me and won't leave you stranded.

I put 2 gals. of gas in the tank...the reading was just off empty. I jacked the car up on the driver side and pulled the sender...adjusted the float and sat the car back down. once i got it to read empty (first try) I was set...:thumbs2:
