I was being stupid and was in a rush to get my motor going for college. The ring was somewhat tough to move in the piston groove. My fault, live and learn. Ill soon find out but i think the heads are fine.
if the ring is not in the groove all the way and you force it in you will break the ring and piston side groove between that ring and the next ring then it make the piston fail ,
Heart surgeons dont rush a triple bypass. NEVER rush component assembly. Lesson learned huh... Did you have fitment issues with the other pistons/rings???
Yep that pretty much sums it up for myself as well. LOL. I think we could have figured out how to put Justin on the moon with less posts than this. Just pokin fun at ya Justin. Sometimes the road to knowledge is a rough, misfire filled one my young apprentice.
I doubt it. things id check distributor gear (old dist on roller cam will eat the gear and cause it to get out of time) id take the head back to the machine shop and have them double check there work and make sure the valves are sealing pull the lifters and make sure there is no rollers broken make sure all the valves are opening and closing and correct your valve train geometry problems
I told him to go threw the hole motor again just to make sure this is the last time he puts it together
I mean you can't drive a car 25 miles with a broken rocker and 3 bent valves and not have something else hurt ..,,,
Thats for sure i would tear it completely down and start over, ive got a good running stock 5.0 that he needs it runs good with no problems
