So I finally had the front suspension replaced by one of the Laurel Mountain Mustang kits. It wasn't a surprise to me that the stuff in the car was 36 years old and my mechanic told me everything went well and the car is driving much better than it was.

But here's a problem. Is the constant squeaking up front normal? I thought that maybe it's just the car getting used to new stuff after having 36 year old equipment under there and it will get used to it.

Am I right on that? Should I just drive it around for maybe an entire tank of gas just t let it sit? or is there something else to it?

Did you use poly urethane bushings up front on say...The control arms???
    Poly bushings tend to squeak.
Are your spring perches new??? Old ones will squeak and groan
Did you install new spring isolators on top of the coils...old ones will cause squeaking.
As stated by Maverick maniac. Be certain everything is greased well, especially the upper control arms...Good luck!!!

Does it help to apply anything to the rubber bushings? Rebuilt front end isn't on my immediate schedule but its in my future. Squeaks from new front end parts would be really annoying.

You can put some vasilene on contact points or use white lithium grease...Neither will eat the bushings...Some lubricants can kill a rubber/poly bushing. Squeakes are annoying...Had one in my Sprint after I rebuilt the front suspension on it. Right upper control arm, re-greasing it with a pnumatic grease gun lubed it up and quieted it, guess the pump grease gun I was useing didnt have enough oompf to get grease into that one.

I still have a squeak in mine on the passenger side, been a couple of weeks now since install, same kit from Laurel mountain, I figure it's the spring saddle since there were none on the springs when it came apart, figure it will get used to it being there and quiet down.

Mine was a strange deal i thought also. It never ever squeeked when it had all the original stuff under it. When i replaced it all it started squeeking and did for about a year and just quite. I checked it, its tight and all good. Strange.
