Its amazing what a hot tanking can do to a pair of heads. Ill be burning off my new tire in no time. (now that my valve train geometry is right) Things do happen for a reason. Car broke down and i had the money. 100 for gaskets + 150 for the heads and motor + 40 for spark plugs + 80 for cleaning = 370 vs 280 for new seats for bigger valves that were on heads + 40 for pushrods + 40 for sparkplugs + 100 for gaskets + 30 bucks for 4 new valves on the drivers side (they were short) = 490 yeh, i would have had "gt40 heads" but i dont really care right now because i saved 120 bucks!!!! Dance banana man, dance! bananamanbananaman if my math is right
I've always wondered, when you paint heads like you did should you use a primer first or just the paint ?
Im working on it, didnt have any thread lock! Got one head on right now and one header attached. Going to install plugs and work on the other side.
Follow the stock specs(65-72 ft lbs) and Lighty oil the threads . If you use thread lock it increases the friction which prevents an accurate measurement of tightness.
