I sincerely apologize if I gave the impression I was getting on your case.
It was not my intention to do so. Please dont leave because of my lack of tact... I had a crummy day with a crummy customer and I brought the mood home with me. :footinmouth: It wont happen again.

Escorts seem to be vanishing from the horizon too! I see more Cavilers its around a 20 to 1 ratio around here. (By the time he sinks $1000 in that car; he could have bought an Escort and had a reliable, safe daily driver.)

@castell when my sister first learned to drive she had a cavalier. if it wasn't one problem it was another. my dad said he had several from the 80's and they were great but cavaliers seemed to have slipped in the 90's from what ive seen.
-alot of the kids at school who didnt have mommy and daddy buy them a new car had escorts/cavaliers/ or other reasonably priced cars and i would see countless times them having trouble with them (probably because most kids think cars dont need maintenance) so I've avoided those.

i may end up with a newer car one day but i would love to always have a late model car as my daily.

i know this topic is done since the maverick was worse than it was described and i cannot purchase it but on our way back saw for sale a 66' dodge truck with the 225 /6.

i know 66' sounds like a bad daily driver choice but this truck was as solid as they get and ran fine. i asked dad why did they stopped making trucks that way. the metal that dodge was made from was thicker then most frames are nowadays. the price was same as the maverick so i may end up going that route.

As far as Escorts, my son has a 2000 Escort ZX2. It had 160,000 miles on it when he bought it about 9 months ago. Automatic, P/Sunroof, Power windows, Power locks, AC, etc. (4) new tires, all new brakes including new rotors and drums, pads/shoes, etc. Runs and drives excellent, uses no oil, etc. He bought it for $2000....so they can be found.
