I was wondering if anyone has had a maverick or comet that the battery tray area was not rusted out. I have had over 10 mavericks that were parted out and I haven't found one that had a solid battery tray
no I already rebuilt that area in my car. In my car they battery tray was about gone and they apron was rusted out bad too. I guess they had a leaky battery in it
my comet and my 70 parts car i have right now both have good battery trays and aprons. and i think both the other two parts cars i had, had good ones too.
My 70 Maverick has no rust or corrosion on the battery tray or apron Supprisingly there was very little rust anywhere on my Mav. Now as Im taking everything apart im rust sealing everything.
The one on the left in my signature didn't, but it was a little banged up so I swapped it out anyway. The other was moved to the back before I bought it.
Here is a tech artical I did a few years ago on the Mustang swap. http://www.maverick.to/mmb/showthread.php?t=18559
Battery Tray I have one w/o a hole in it or the battery area anywhere. I had it out early spring and cleaned up a little surface rust and acid residue, painted it and put the battery back. I plan on replacing the battery w/ a red top when this one goes south if not sooner- to get rid of the acid residue. I may have a pic of that area in my gallery - not sure. This is the first and only Mav/Comet type car I have ever owned. I guess I really lucked out.
