Aqui esta la situacion, quiero comprar un maverick 71 grabber, aqui en mexico se produjeron para el mercado nacional e internacional, en toluca, y por ende noe s muy dificil conseguirlo. es por eso que queria preguntarles para ustedes cual seria los puntos a checar en un maverick como estos, es decir por ejemplo yo queria hacer un checkup de algunos puntos de el carro por ejemplo niveles de corrocion, carroceria, transmision, motor etc y otros puntos mas a checar antes de empezar a aramar un auto de estos muchas gracias estos consejos son de gran ayuda para un novato como yo saludos Pablo Rodriguez !
Hola, The most important place to look for rot is the cowl area ... pour water into the slats in front of the windshield ... if it leaks into the interior from either side under the dash, you have a problem. It really takes a lot of disassembly to fix. Also, look at the torque boxes ( the area in the floor in front of where the floor angles up to the firewall). Those can be hard to fix. Most other areas are fairly easy to fix. I would imagine a lot of Mexican cars are pretty solid if you are from a desert area. If you are more tropical, you may have to look at the car closer.
Yes, definitely check the cowl area. Also look underneath for any frame or floorboard rust. Welcome to the board.
