im useing the b@m super cooler also. i mounted it between the hood latch support and the passenger side of the radiator support. i made brackets that mount to the supports. i put it with the fittings facing out towards the passenger side. it sits about 1/4 inch infront of the radiator. ill try to get some pics tomarrow and post them.

That is an auxillary oil cooler isn't it?
It doesn't look big enough to cool a C4.
I would want one three times that big - at least as big as Matt's.

I think it would cool as good or better than a...200 degree radiator would...

Yes it is an auxiliary (secondary) cooler. The way I understand it…automatic transmission fluid needs to be around 175 degrees to be at its operation temperature. Just like motor oil anything cooler is not good. I drive my car in the winter also so I want the fluid to be able to get warm. If I had an all out race car with a trans brake and high stall converter then I could see needing a big cooler. The way I look at it…if the engineers in Detroit think this cooler is good enough to be used on a big block F250 with a tow package then it’s good enough for my needs along with my deep pan.

The "optimum" temperature for an auto transmission is 170F. Any temp from 120F to 170F will be great. At 190F the transmissions life is cut in half, at 210 it is 25%, at 230 it is only 1/8th as long as it should be. Temps of 250F for even a very short time can cause permanent and catastrophic damage.
