I did the white face gauge change and put in blue led's...well I am just not happy and am gonna pull it out and clean up the contacts, first of all my gas gauge was working ok then it went from half a tank to WAYYYYY past full (no I did not put any gas in it) my blinker indicators work some of the time, the blue led's are not bright enough for me to see well and when I turn on my bright headlights I lose ALL cluster lights!
This being part Cherokee and Irish thing is not working....Cherokee part is ok..But the Irish luck I am having is all bad!
Ohhhh one more thing...the dang shift linkage came off under the hood while I was taking out the cluster (you know pull the shift lever down into first out of the way) and when I got the cluster back in I started the car and went backwards....it was stuck in reverse disconnected!!! Told ya my luck.....or maybe it was the Bud Light Lime!:pub:

Ah yeh, Irish,Cherokee and Bud lime. Nuff said. :naughty: :rofl2:

Isnt that awful when a car takes off in gear like that. Totally catches you off guard and your heart stops dead for a few beats. Terrible feeling. At least you didnt hit anything. Maybe the Irish luck is helping. Think positive.

Sounds like a ground problem with the cluster, and for the gauge, either the constant voltage regulator or the sending unit. CVR is on the cluster on the back side, little rectanglular unit. Good luck!

Ok got if figured out..some of the contacts the little tag ends where the harness plugs in were GONE! I guess just rotted away...took another circuit off the back of another cluster I had and problem solved..Waiting until dark for a cruize to see how good it lights up, yes the light housing was painted white...yeah I changed out the blue led's for some blue regular bulbs.

Yeah Lance that was the fuzzy one, I replaced it when I snagged the circuit from the other gauge cluster.
Now I just need to find some blue bulbs that are bright enough for me to see well at night, but I do love the white face gauges and they were really easy to put on!
