I agree for the most part with ur reasoning - we don't see more of our cars in events. Even with these facts stated; I believe our production numbers being 20 times more than Edsels we should have a greater presence in the old car fraternity. Im sure not all those Edsels produced have avoided the boneyards, barns, sheds and crushers. For the sake of conversation lets say all 120,000 Edsels were alive and kickin and only 25% Mavs were live and kickin - we still have over 700,000 compared to their 120,000. If we have 25% crushed, 25% offshore and 25% daily drivers we still out number them grossly. Been out of school awhile - hope I got the math right. Not being arguementative just a healty discussion.
I haven't seen a Maverick in any of the car shows I've attended. I'll be interested to see how the public reacts to mine some day. Happened to meet a guy that has a hot rod shop near here. He thought it was hilarious that I'd put a lot of time, money and effort into a Maverick. He was joking but you know the old saying, "More truth is spoken in jest than this world dreams of." But, to me, that's a big part of the charm. I like having the Roger Dangerfield collector car. Liked having a Mustang convert too. Its all good. Another factor is the percentage of remaining cars that are show cars vs daily drivers. Not many daily driver Edsels around. The ones that are still alive are mostly show cars, so they go to the shows. IMHO.
