Would an alternator off of an 86 suburban work on my 73 maverick? Would I have to get a different size battery or does it matter?

Also what about the ignition switch?

If the mounting points and pulley are the same.. and you can do a little wire work.. I don't see why not. I'm gonna assume the Suburban alternator isn't a 60A alt.. Probably 100A? Won't matter either way.. Cheapest battery will do you just fine.

It says it's a 63 amp alternator I think? I don't know anything about alternators really...

Get a taurus one. The wiring is so easy. Its 135 amps and itll bolt right on in. I ran one of a 93 without any issues....

If you don't know, then go to the parts store and get one that is made to fit your car.

Well I have an oppertunity to get a free one from a suburban since I'm broke, that's why I was asking, I need the ignition switch too if I could get those 2 things I'd actually get to drive my car for once... :(
