Help with 77 Maverick and also gas cap I have a 77 maverick i bought that was just the body and was wondering why it doesn't have the emblems that the over mavericks have(maverick dash emblem, icon on the outsides etc..) It has a vinly white top, blue exterior, nice wheelwell trims and non sport morriors. I don't know much about but i think it may be the LDO:confused: . I'am also going to buy a gas cap for my 77 maverick but do not know if it will fit/work? Here is a picture of the gas cap. If any one knows where to get the right cap or any gas cap let me know thanks Does any one have a picture of a maverick Filler Neck, i need to compare how it looks because there were two in my mave wheni bought it not sure which one is the mav one
That is a pre-unleaded gas cap ... However, the later model caps fit on earlier cars so I don't see why it shouldn't work the other way around.
The correct one says "Maverick" above the Steerhead ... check the forsale board ... I have one for sale in there ..
Apparently, Ford must have thought that by 1977, the Maverick didn't need emblems anymore. My 77' Maverick only has the FORD letters on the hood and trunk and the name MAVERICK is only in the grill. Other 77's I have seen are all the same way. Maybe that's why people can't figure out what kind of car it is.
Thanks, i thought my mav was a copy or something , its good to know its in orginal all i need know is the ford letters that go on the hood and may be the grill emblem.
