I have an 8'' with the axle tubes that get smaller at the ends. Is anyone running a standard 3'' U-bolt on this, or do i have to get special made 2.75'' ones ?
When I had my 9 inch rear narrowed I used the old tube ends from my 8 inch and used the OEM perch's. Then I had them welded on to the 9 inch housing. Fit like a charm but I wanted new U bolts and stronger ones so I used 3 inch wide with 1/2 20 thread and utill I snapped off my ujoint bolts at VMP racing I never had any problems with them. I'm still using that rear end and had to get new peachs for it, mopar perchs are 3 inch and they fit on the tubes like ford had made them for it. I don't think you will have any problems.
