Been busy doing alot of other things, and haven't had much time to drive any of the Mavericks much this year. So, tonight I got the 74' out of mothballs and took it for spin. All I can say is Wow! Better than any amusement park ride or movie or whatever you might do for fun. Just went cruising, listening to radio with the windows down. I got quite a few positive comments etc. Probably one of the most relaxing, and fun evenings I have had all summer thus far! Brought back a lot of good memories. :)

Just had to share, nothing like driving a Maverick with the windows down, and the radio up on a warm summer's night! (y)

I have had years when I could only get the car out maybe a couple times at the most. Makes you wonder why you dont drive them more. Then you realize all the things that life does to you and the time it takes to take care of them. Glad you had it out and had fun doing it.

Thanks guys! It may seem silly to some to even post a message like the one above. It's just a great feeling that stays with you even after you park the car and come back in house. It was just a great evening for a ride in one of my favorite cars!

Here is picture of my 74'.

LOL .... I do the same think ... turn the garage light on and say goodnight to the Mav. Helps me sleep better. My Expedition is out in the driveway ...

BTW ... I had a 1973 Maverick identical in color both inside and out ..

I do the same,, go out in the garage, turn on the stereo. I have a desk in there and sometimes I read car mags. Our daily drivers both sit outside. Old stuff gets pampered.

When I was in college I used to sit in my Mav and listen to the stereo for what seemed like hours ( I hope it wasn't.. :p) when I wasn't driving it just for the hell of it. I can't believe I almost sold it three times... that was before I was really even "into" Mavericks.

the last time i drove my car i burned up about a half a tank of gas. it was great except when i got home i new it was going to be under the weather for awhile when i got it ready for paint. it was still a good drive before though. by the way a '03 subaru and a 04 saturn sit outside the garage.
