Hey. been waiting a while to hear back from a member about some bumper brackets and other stuff. Don't know if it's gonna happen anymore.. I'm trying to put what I think is a 73 small bumper on my 71. The current brackets make it stick out too far from the body.. I'm gonna just bring it to a metal shop for them to fab up, but if someone has a set lying around and could give me some measurements that would be great! I don't trust these metal shoppers to know what it's supposed to look like when done... and honestly I've never seen a mav in person with the bumper on, so[IMG] I don't even know what it should look like haha.

73 bracket is on the left and 71 bracket on the right.

Thanks bud! :urock: That was awesome of you to do! I took the pics and measurements to the metal shop and they didn't wanna do it. They said it was too easy to mess up.. (We need a "Fail" smiley)
They did say if I got the actually brackets for the bumper that they'd fab up the brace I'm missing inside the trunk no problem tho :thumbs2:
Thanks again for the help!!! Thought it would work. I'll start shopping for 71 brackets here in a minute.

I used '69-'70 Mustang brace in the trunk. As far as modifying the 73 bracket…cut it 1”+ the thickness of flat stock and weld across the back for the mounting bolts.

thanks. the brace in the trunk should be easy. not worried about that. The flat piece with the holes is still there, just no support for it - piece of cake.
If the metal shop people were afraid to cut the brackets idk if I trust my skills enough...
i don't think new brackets will break the bank... just means i have to wait longer.
