Stopped for fuel last night after a long drive to try and find a Sunoco station left around here. The lady beside me says what year is that one? Thinking she likely had a Mav or something I replied 72. Her reply,"Oh I really like the 69 Camaros".

I turned and said you realize this is a Maverick right?? She says Oh I read Maverick on the fender but I thought maybe it was a model of Camaro.
I said No its a Ford Maverick. She just gave a blank look and said I'm sorry I've never seen one before.
My 14 year old daughter heard the whole thing. Smart kid says if she likes 69 Camaros so much you think she'd know what a Camaro looked like.

I have had my Maverick called a camaro on four different occasions, twice at gas stations, and twice when people stopped by my friends shop to ask if the 69 camaro out back was for sale.:respect:

Had a similar thing happen a couple of days ago. I was working on a friend's Acura in a parking lot, my car was parked next to me. Dude walks up to the car, starts walking around it, looking, says,

    "This yours?"

    "Yes it is."

    "What's that, about a '71?"

"You got it." (At this point I'm thinking, hey, maybe I'm about to have an intelligent conversation. It was not to be.)

"Beautiful car, man, I love these. Mine was a '67."

    "Oh, okay that's cool..."

A '67 what, I wonder? Did he mistake the car for something else, something he himself used to own but still couldn't recognize? Mustang? Camaro? Or was he utterly lying through his teeth to impress a random filthy, grease-covered, sweat-drenched guy turning wrenches in a parking lot?

Sunocos are few and far between here...and I despise Petro!
I'm still surprised that since Sunoco bought them, they would change the name..??..??

All Husky stations around this area now. The super is only 91. The owner told me that the remaining Sunoco stations that will switch to Petro Canada will carry the 94 still. ???? HAve to wait and see I guess.

Just yesterday a guy standing with a bunch of others that hang around the area behind my apartments garage asked me what year the Yellow Pinto was! The reason he said yellow was my Mav was sitting next to my blue/green Pinto!!! I kindly told him it wasn't a Pinto. Another guy before I could tell him goes "You moron that's a F-ing Maverick!"

    not intending to H-J but....
There's a Sunoco in Markham that just switched over to PC and they have brand new PC pumps but with a separate nozzle for the U94. Looks like the ones that switch over will at least continue it.

Good news. Hope they dont rob us too much for it.
The 91 at Petro was 13 cents/liter more than 87.
