Thanks for the pictures! Lime green pinto is my buddy from Pittsburgh, pretty sure he was going again this year, it's a drag car. Pete, I gotta a 69.5 Maverick WITH a 6 cylinder and tranny, I'll sell for $30,000 and if you send me a buyer, I'll give you a 10 grand bird dog fee!!!!
I gave one to a co-worker about 5 years ago. Sat here on my radio at work since 91. Had no idea Mav gas caps would bring money.
Great to see the old project Super Stock Magazine Maverick and all of those Cobra Jets. Thanks for posting.
How much was he asking for the primered gray car? I used to own that car. Then I sold it to a guy named Barry. He was on this site under the name AUSSIEBJ He put a mustang II front end and a 460 in it. He was in the process of trying to make custom headers for it. (a bag of snakes) He sold it on ebay. I think it went for around $3200 / 3500. I should have bid on the car and bought it back. I know for a fact it's the same car. I followed the auction and I remember Autokrafters was the winning bidder. It turns out I bought another Maverick with a mustang II and 460 combo later.
Autokrafters Primered Grey Maverick. The story on that car: It was built by a guy I went to High School with. His name was Jerry Park. Two of his uncles ( Bob and Bill Park) raced Nascar modifieds so he had access to a lot of automotive knowledge, tools, etc... It was a fast car in 1979 / 80. I saw it for sale one day and I recognized it right away. It still had two Playboy Bunny insignias etched in the quarter windows. So I bought it for $1800. I should have kept it. It wasn't for sale, but I was offered a good price for it. By the way Jerry Park is the cousin of Steve Park, the Nascar driver who drove the Penzoil car #1 for DEI.
