well as some of you know im new to this forum but i figured id post some pics of what im starting off with. worked on it for about 4 hours today and got the complete engine wiring harness out and did a little bit of sanding. im trying to get it going by fall wish me luck and heres the pics.
Looks like a good start i also have a 77 i'm working on my self, i too am new to this site and still learning to navigate through things here but seems like alot of good info!
yeah i did a little more sanding today and looks like i got my work cut out for me cause there is alot of body filler.
I love the red interrior. You certainly have your work cut out for you. I dont know how familliar you are with tearing down a car but, word of advice...Bag and tag everything you remove. Zip lock bags and a sharpie marker are cheap and will save you alot of headaches when you go to reassemble things. Have fun!!!
Are you sure it is a 77? I noticed that it has the small bumpers on it. They only used those through 72. It is posible that someone has changed them somewhere along the way but I would check the vin number to make sure. Good luck with the project.
it has a 75+ speedometer, 73+ dash, late door panels, a 76+ grille. looks more like a 77 than an early car to me
I would still check the vin number to be sure so you will know when you need to order parts. What does the title say it is?
It might also be a good idea to check the vin on the title with the vin on the car. I'm not trying to rain on your parade, just trying to help you sort things out so you will know what you have for sure.
yeah it is a 77 the owner before the person i got it from did a nice horrible conversion. he was nice enough to WELD the from bumper brackets that are now bent. should be fun removing them.
anybody know where i can get some replacement floor pan pieces found quite a bit of rust on the passenger side tonight and lots of unnecessary holes in the driver side. tonight was a pretty good challenge decided to rip the interior out since i wont be using any of it and the stupid @#$%^&* that did the swap on the interior drilled holes all over the place then bolted it in and welded the bolts so they wouldnt come loose. so finally after 2 hours on the grinder i got it all out and and the grabber trunk lid put on. im thinking tomorrow ill start swapping rear ends since its already on jackstands.
