David, glad to see you made it home okay. It was great standing around talking and chatting about Mavericks etc. There is doubt in my mind that you will get that Grabber up and running! :) It's going to need some attention, and I am just thrilled to see it go to good home! (y) I am looking forward to the progress that you will be making with it.

Here is a pic from a 72' Maverick Sales Brochure.

I guess I didn't qualify that . . . what I meant to say was "I think it might rain tonight, and I doubt if you will get the Grabber running tonight." Yeah that's it, that's what I was trying to say. :D

Sorry, I guess after being up since 3:00 a.m., I should be a little more careful on my PrOoF rEaDIng. :)

Seriously though, I know the car is in good hands, and you seem more than capable of getting the Grabber back on the road again, and I can't wait to be one of first to take a ride in it! (y)

WiThOuT a DoUBt iN mY MiND. :)

P.S. You might want to delete the photo of the two of with the mugs in our hands, someone may start to wonder if there was something else in those mugs other than ice tea. :D

Dave & Dave, first, Dave curse you for selling it to Dave. Dave curse you if you are planning on filling all those holes. On the other hand it is good that Dave found a buyer and didn't part it out, and Dave got a new grabber project to play with, I know he is going through withdrawls right now.:D :D :D Maybe you can get it to the round up so we can get another for overall count.

why it would not run.....the 3inch rubber hose that goes from the tank to the steel line was so soft it was flat and it could not pump the fuel...:smash:
replaced the line..drained the tank flushed it all out and fired it up looks like after sitting 11+ years it could use plugs and wires there is no mis just look real bad (y)

now need to clean the engine up  looks like lower rad hose leaks ....may need a water pump:rolleyes: ....now to get the brakes fixed then should be able to take it around the block  :bananaman

Definitely a labor of love. I think you should keep it the original color, that would be so cool. A Grabber V-8/auto with buckets is great find. Good luck and keep us posted on progress.:)

Original color is definitely the way to go...quite a project but you can do it Dave.
I would find me some pics of what the car looked like new and post them in the work area.
I don't beleve I've seen an restored or nice original in that color and package combination.
Good Luck and keep us posted(y)
