So, one of the only rearends I can find in my area is an 8 inch from a 66 Mustang. I have read that it will bolt up directly, but will be about an inch wide. Will this be okay? Or should I hold off for another? It's really cheap, so I'm thinking of getting this one.

    Thanks

Alright I will. It's only $100 and looks decent. It has 3.00 gears. I don't know much about gears. Will that be okay with around 300hp or should I change them out?

I think the width issue depends on the wheels you are going to use. If you are going with stock wheels it should be fine. I have a 68 Mustang rear end in my car now and it is ok...but I have found a Maverick rear end and will be changing it soon because I may run wider aftermarket wheels on it later on.

I'm going to run my stock wheels for a little while since they are almost brand new with 95% tread. But I'll probably be switching to Cragars later on. I guess I'll deal with fitment later.

I'll see how that gear ratio reacts with my engine and go from there.

    Thanks for the help guys.
