well a higher converter i had to get a new one and the lowest rpm one i could find was from tci and it is 1600-1800 so its alittle higher than stock
Yea... very little. Its a bit higher but not a "high stall" As far as carbs... each kind is different/easier for each person. If you read up on them and understand them then they will be both equally as easy to tune
yea i mean i kind of understand holleys now but ive heard from some that edelbrocks are easier because that there is no floats to set just a basic bolt and turn the idle
oh really so it doesnt really matter which one i go with might as well stay in the holley family then since i kind of know what to do with them. so whats the most common holley that will be best for my 302. just a 600 cfm or is that to much for it?
600cfm or less I would say unless you build it up Every carb, even a stock carb has to be set and adjusted to run correctly.
What are you looking to get out of your setup? Daily driver with good gas mileage. Weekend driver possible future mild performance mods. Occasional street use definite future mild-to high performance mods.
its my first car so i want it has to be a daily driver but i want a good bit of performance out of it for it whenever i take it to the track. i just want it to drive at this point
this is the carb i have right now http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-0-80453/?rtype=7 and this is a summit carb i found wondered if anyone has heard good things about it looks to be the same as a holley in the tuning wise from the instructions http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-M08600VS/
For a stock engine, that square bore electric choke Holley 600 is ideal. I had one on a 73 Duster with a 318 that ran 80,000 miles with very little trouble. I would try to sort the problems out with the carb that you have. Do you know any drag racers or circle track racers that can look at it for you? They know Holley carbs inside and out.
no i dont know really anyone that can look at it for me. what about that summit carb?? like its cheaper and all the parts for like rebuild kits and stuff are all same as holley
My guess would be that Holley simply made a carb for Summit Racing. Unless they cheapened some of the internal parts so that Summit could sell it for less, it may very well be a Holley.
