well i need a new cable does any one have any suggestions (lokar?) (auto krafters) i can make a universal one work but whats the best and easiest.what have some of you guys used. thanks john
Fox body V8 Mustang with a factory 4bbl carb 83-85 i belive.Thats what i have on mine bolted right up.
mine broke on the startring line at the track last year. when did yours break? i used a lokar one that i had laying around. works well.
Been thinking about putting a new one on my car. It's the only thing on the car I've never touched, I'm sure it's living on borrowed time at this point. Would suck to have it snap on the way to work one morning.
Lokar, the only thing you'll need to do, it reuse the clip thingy that connects the stock cable to the gas pedal arm.
its not broke yet bryant but its sticking real bad.right in the burnout box but then it let go and i was able to run then at the end of the track so its time to replace. john
I actually need a new one also. Mine broke last weekend when I went to start it to adjust the idle (I also need carb fixed it floods out) priced the cable at jegs.com for about $40
Make sure the catch is your cable and not a weak return spring. as i have said many a time, i broke two of the cheapy spectre brand ones and one of the lokar ones within four months. so i mated the three into a new one with full adjust-ability both under the pedal and at the carb and at the cable bracket behind the hood. so far it has held up really well for over a year, i only had an issue where one of the alan clamps did not hold the end on. i believe that is under control now with some thread locker on the alan bolt.
There are a few guys on this board that have factory used ones for sale. Mine broke at the gas pedal end and I replaced it with a nice used one from Maverick Maniac. I think Craig Selvey has them as well.
