I am looking for new valve covers for my engine. I have come across a great deal on new chromed aluminum Ford Motorsport tall valve covers. I currently have the normal height valve covers.

Who can tell me the difference in height??

    Thanks,
    Glenn

As far as I know it has a lot to do with how high your valves come up, ie a larger-lift cam.

i got some 6 inch tall valve covers edelbrock with the lines in it (90 in summit catalog) and they clear fine. unless you get some big ol' 300 dollar valve covers, i believe you will be fine.
looked at a pair of them ford valve covers at the ohio swap meet and they dont seem too tall

Ok, so maybe there is some confusion here.

I don't really need the tall valve covers. I have the standard now and they work fine, but I found a deal on a set of tall chromed aluminum ones from Ford Motorsport catalog. My question is to try and figure if they will be too tall!!

    Thanks,
    Glenn

If you are running a factory EFI set up...The taller Ford Motorsport covers will not clear the upper plenum.

Yes I am, I have a 94-95 Cobra intake. However I am planning on running a 1" spacer.

Justin, he was asking whats the difference in size of those two valve cover sets.

usually most aftermarket cams usually add between .1 and .15 amount of lift. Which doesn't really cause valve cover fitment issues.

Now when you swap to different rockers is when you get fitment issues, as many of them are bigger that the OE ones.

This looks like it is becoming difficult. Maybe there is no real answer as many different valve covers are different heights. I was just hoping someone knew the difference in the Ford Motorsport valve covers.
    I guess not?

    Thanks,
    Glenn
