Well folks after just over a month of fab work, body work and paint it is done and on the car ,i hope you all like it .I will now have this hood made in fibreglass in the next two weeks for a price of min 475.00 to a max of 550.00 U.S plus shipping .I will look into the shipping cost once i have the fibreglass one built and boxed.I will not attemp to have this made unless i have 6 others that want them other than myself .You do not have to be commetted to buying it till someone other than myself tells you how good the quality is AKA from this forum, cjtorinoman who will be the first to get one.I just need to know who would be interested befor i put up thousands of my dollars to have the mold and the min number count made. Here are pics of the all steel finished hood on my 71 grabber Blue Thunder .Remember there will be very few made so they will be unique.Im thinking less than 20 for sure for Canada and the U.S,Jimmy:Handshake P.S please leave an opinion if you like it or not ,my feelings wont be hurt ,i mad this hood out of a need for more room under the hood for racing purposes, ie taller intake,NOS system, large air cleaner and for thoughs who may want to put in a low profile super charger on and still close the hood.

Really nice job on the hood jimmy.:thumbs2: I think you achieved exactly what you planned. Its still a Grabber hood but serves your racing needs. You should be very happy with it.

That cowl design would look great on a stock non Grabber steel hood as well. If I had a Grabber I would definitely buy one of your glass ones even just to save for future use if I needed some more space under the hood.

Honestly, I did not think the cowl AND grabber hood combo would look right when your first mentioned this project HOWEVER, as I followed your progress it was looking more and more promising, and the end product turns out being a VERY nice piece.

    Excellent work my man (y)

Looks great, a lot of talent went into that hood.

Great fab work Jimmy. I personally like the stock grabber hood look better but I'm a mild mod kind of guy. I think you're onto something for the more extreme mod minded guys (I'm betting the bulk of them will be racers).

Pretty nice. I'm wondering what it would look like from the inside looking through the windshield?

Very nice! You did an incredible job! Im not in the fiberglass hood business, but I would think ~$500 is a great price for a custom hood like that.

I'm not a fan of the silver on the cowl itself. I would prefer it one solid color, but that's just me! :yup:

Yes, please a picture from inside looking out, and/or from the outside mirror area and looking into the cowl.

Thomas and Scooper, i will do that for you guys monday night, take a pic from the driver seat. Im going away for a overnight getaway with Bev for a little quality time together, back late Monday afternoon:yahoo::yahoo:. If your curious how high it looks from the seat ,the cowl sits level with the lower part of the dash pad ,not the instrument cluster ,but the lower part of the dash pad .No visual restrictions.

I really like it...didn't think I would, great craftsmanship! Would make a great 'glass hood, the only thing I would do,(JMO) is take away some of the real sharp cut at the very back of the cowl, try to round it a little to match the roundness of the bulges (scoops),nice job!

Being fiberglass. would we need to use pins to keep it down?
