Anyone that has a throttle cable from a Maverick/Comet, would you please measure very accurately the total length from tip to tip and report back. I took a cable assembly off of a Fairmont at the JY and tried to install it into a 64 Falcon and the cable is a good 1 1/2" too long or more. I am wondering if there were different length. I can see no way to adjust the length other than cut and reinstall the ball.

    How long do you need?

That is what I am trying to find out. If I can get the stock length from a Maverick and compare it to the one I have from the Fairmont, I might be able to just swap it out if it is shorter.

It would have been more helpful if we knew if you're were working on a 6 cyl or V8 and the year and length of the Fairmont cable on hand.

Here is a list of what size cables were used in the 73-79 Mustang, Granada, Pinto, Maverick and Fairmont.

This was for a 200 CI setup. From the looks of the table, my suspicions are now confirmed. I will check mine tomorrow and measure. Right now it is installed.
