Always Always Always get a new cam with new lifters but... i found a slightly bigger cam thats used with new lifters. i know the guy and he said there was no damage to the old lifters, they were just mixed up yes or no and why
If he did mix up the old lifters than that would be a reason why he has new lifters for them. used cam + used lifters no problem... used cam + used matched lifters is acceptable used cam + used mixed lifters is a problem.
Yes, if you're talking about a flat tappet cam. Roller cams don't care. As the flat lifters slide and rotate on the cam lobes they, and the cam, develope a unique wear pattern. If you put a different lifter on a lobe than the one it was "matched" to, wear is accellerated. So if they get mixed, you're in trouble. If the new lifters haven't been broken in to the cam yet be sure to do that.
justin, why not get everything u want for ur motor at once b4 u start installing anything??? this would save alot of time, aggervation and $$$
You dont wanna mix up rockers, fulcrums, pushrods, or lifters. Then need to be put back in the same location.
No, it's slightly smaller than the 268H. It's a 260HR I'm sure, the lift is slightly more, but the duration is less. You'll may need custom pushrods to go with it too. I was thinkin it was a flat tappet cam, so $80 for the cam and lifters isn't a bad deal.
